We are committed to enabling every individual lead an enriched life with the power of sports and fitness.
When our dear friend Vijay Alluri announced his desire to run 50 KM to mark his 50th birthday, the formative discussions around ‘crewing’ this run for him gave birth to Beyond 42.195, our first flagship event. The unique, rustic route we curated across the rural landscapes of Bengaluru attracted 70 other people to join Vijay, encouraging the ‘support crew’, to think further and design the Bangalore Runners Jatre.
That is now our marquee initiative.
Built on these goals, Jatre encourages everyone, across all age groups to join a community run that emphasises on making running a part of their routine. In Kannada, Jatre (jha-threy) is a town fair. And the Bengaluru Runners Jatre is a personification of this term, drawing the essence of camaraderie, togetherness, shared purpose and fun, primarily focussed on small communities across Bangalore.
Our newest initiative is a partnership with Saptagiri Educational Institutions for Project Prerana, a collaboration to foster athletes proficient in Kho-Kho. We are currently supporting 120 athletes, with an active plan to expand this number.
Fitness activities play a powerful role in emotional and mental wellbeing. And Jatre’s goals have evolved to building a platform that can help our communities to tap into the wealth of expertise and encouragement that comes with engagement.
Bengaluru Sports Foundation is built on these ideals. We are a volunteer-led organisation comprising of working professionals who are keen on further the goals of community wellness. We are a community-first in our thinking and we place the purpose of fitness and community at the forefront.
And we welcome you to join us.
